Efficiently Shipping an Autogyro Cavalon to Ohio
When you think of an autogyro, it almost sounds like something from a classic movie. Or, if you know your history or perhaps come from an era where you remember, an autogyro was originally what they called a helicopter. However, this autogyro is different from your classic helicopter.
We had many great transports in October, but when the votes came back, it was unanimous that Zack Stone’s 2016 Autogyro Cavalon was a unique and fun transport we had to feature.
Zack received the call from a private pilot and collector who had just purchased the Cavalon from auction in Marion, Illinois. He needed to transport it to his hangar in East Liverpool, Ohio.
What is an Autogyro Cavalon?
The Autogyro Cavalon is a German-made aircraft with several features including:
Side-by-side seating
Heated cockpit
8.4 m diameter rotor with a variable pitch pusher propeller
Tricycle landing gear with wheel pants
And more.
The Autogyro offers several optional features as well. The client had been searching for one to fit his needs for quite a while, and now that he’d purchased it from auction, he needed to make sure it arrived safely.
Autogyro Cavalon Specifications:

Hauling The Autogyro Cavalon on a Hot Shot Trailer
The Autogyro Cavalon falls into standard transport dimensions, so no oversize load permits were necessary. Zack had a driver with a hot shot trailer in the area. The driver was looking for a return load in that direction. So, Zack negotiated a cheaper price for transport, which the client loved.
In addition to the Autogyro fuselage, two rotors had been crated after auction. The driver had enough room on his trailer to haul everything together. Once loaded, they secured the autogyro with chains and the crates with ratchet straps.
After ensuring the safety and security of the autogyro, Zack gave the okay for the driver to disembark to Ohio.
