It often happens due to logistical problems or a lack of available product at the destination.
Many trucking companies do their best to provide backhaul jobs for their drivers so that they don't lose money on the trip back to the company. This is when companies located at Point B need freight moved from them to Point A and pays the trucking company a discounted rate to haul product back with them.
